Brief Overview of Illinois Mesothelioma & Asbestos Law

Asbestos exposure is the cause of serious illness for millions of Americans, especially if they have been exposed to it over a period of time. Each year, nearly 3,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma—and nearly all of them are linked to asbestos.

Mesothelioma is a form of cancer that occurs in the thin membrane of the lungs, chest and abdomen. It attacks the membranes, called “mesothelium,” that surrounds and protects vital organs like the heart and lungs. These cancerous cells can metastasize quickly to other parts of the body.
